2019年6月19日，QS发布最新2020年全球大学排名。本次排名中，清华大学和北京大学分别取得了史上最高名次。在2020QS世界大学排名中，清华大学因其不断提高的学术研究水平排名全球大学排名第16位。北京大学则从全球大学排名第30位上升到第22位。

　　整体来说，中国大陆大学的学术研究影响力在持续进步。在中国大陆42所参与本次排名的大学中，有32所大学的QS论文引用指数较去年上升。本次全球大学排名前100位的研究型大学（论文引用率指标下）中有8所来自中国大陆 ，比去年多出3所。

　　该排名由全球高等教育研究公司QS Quacquarelli Symonds编制，共有 1000所世界大学入榜。麻省理工学院连续第八年排名世界第一。亚洲排名最高的大学则是新加坡国立大学和南洋理工大学(并列世界第11位)。

　　London, 19th June 2019: Mainland China’s two leading universities have reached their highest-ever position in the world’s most-consulted university ranking, and Chinese research output now rivals that of the United States. The sixteenth edition of the QS World University Rankings, released today, sees Tsinghua University rank 16th globally after sustained improvements in research output. Peking University has risen from 30th to 22nd.

　　Furthermore, Chinese research impact continues to improve. Of China’s 42 ranked universities, 32 have improved their performance for QS’s Citations per Paper indicator. Eight of the world’s top-100 research universities are now Chinese – three more than in last year’s edition.

　　The rankings, produced by global higher education consultancy QS Quacquarelli Symonds, rank the world’s top 1000 universities. Massachusetts Institute of Technology is named the world number-one for a record eighth consecutive year. Asia’s top universities are the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University (both 11th).
